Interested in contributing a sewn hat or head scarf? Perhaps a hand-knit/crocheted cap? Wonderful! We're grateful for your big heart and skilled hands.
Fibers and colors:
Sewists generally use quilt cotton or soft fabric for head scarves. Turbans and caps may be sewn using fleece.
Hats can be made out of any fiber. Some patients can develop skin sensitivity during chemotherapy, so the softer the fiber, the better (merino, silk, alpaca, cotton, or blends). Easy care (washable) fibers are appreciated. There is not a restriction on color.
Knitters/Crocheters: We have several knit and crochet patterns available as a starting point; however, you may use any pattern that you wish. For more information, please contact Kelsey Lexow (firstname.lastname@example.org). You may also see some of Kelsey's patterns at her Ravelry page here.
Sewists: Any pattern may be used. For more information, please refer to our Pinterest board here. If you are interested in sewing a head scarf, we like this double-sided, simple head scarf in particular at this website.
Bag, Tag and Delivery:
After your blocked hat is dry, please place it in a resealable plastic bag. If you like, you may tie a tag to it. You may download tag templates here. If your hat requires special washing instructions, please include them on the tags and place it in the bag. Each donor will be recognized personally, so feel free to include your name on the gift tag. You may also choose to remain anonymous. You may drop your hats off at any of the below sites. We will pick up your hats from your location or meet you at your convenience. If you wish to mail us your hats or scarves, you may mail them to
