Who We Are
We stitch. We fundraise. We stand with cancer patients.

Cancer is the worst bully you can imagine. With tremendous swagger, it invades the body with one purpose: to kill and maim. To combat this foe, doctors often use chemotherapy.
Chemotherapy can be rough in that it is fraught with side effects, which include nausea, fatigue, hair loss, dry skin, etc. Patients tend to have a lot of fear and anxiety about the process. Operation Chemo Comfort stands with Milwaukee cancer patients during their treatment. Our goal in this volunteer effort is to provide tangible physical and psychological support. Our story began with a remarkable patient, Connie Seekins. Diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer, Connie focused on helping other individuals battling cancer by providing chemo care packages. She made such a tremendous impact on us that we vowed to continue her legacy. In April 2016, we donated hats and care packages to ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis and Sisters 4 Cure, Milwaukee organizations providing breast cancer support services. In our first year, we donated more than 4,000 hats and head scarves to Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Clinical Cancer Center. We were informed that the cancer center quickly moved through this donation, as the need is great at this high-volume cancer center. Since then, we have heard from so many people and organizations who want to donate, volunteer or fund us. The genuine love and concern coming from the community are incredible! We continue to sponsor drives and collect donations year-round. |
